History (Short)

  • Charlotte, a member of a sub-colony of the Wolves, meets Guthrie, a member of the Sparrow council. They strike up a relationship despite their differences.

  • Unfortunately, their differences won out and they parted ways, but days later, Charlotte learned she was pregnant. Too afraid to part ways with her family and colony that she grew up in, she decided to stay instead of trying to reconnect with her former mate.

  • Weeks later, she gave birth to two beautiful kittens, but her joy was short lived once she realized that her son bore two tiny wings on his shoulders. Knowing the Wolves hatred for all things feathered, she hid her son's blasphemous gifts with nesting and brought him closer to her fur, managing to hide them as members of the colony came to see the new arrivals.

  • Thus, Lyron spent most of his kithood in the nursery, never straying from his mother's side while his littermate sister was allowed to play outside with other kittens. Even if he wanted to venture outdoors, it was only with Charlotte and a pelt blanket on his back at all times.

  • Thankfully, he wasn't much of a rebellious son, and learned quickly that his wings was something that almost everyone detested, as he watched those who did have wings like him be tormented, even bullied, all for having wings. The thought of the colony turning their backs on him, his mother AND his sister and no longer treating them kindly made him afraid.

  • But even the smallest kittens grow, and Lyron - along with his wings - kept... on... growing. Cats were growing suspicious, even giving underhanded notions in their words. It wouldn't be long before they would force his cover off of him and his wings revealed.

  • "You must leave." Charlotte begged one night. "This place is no longer safe, you must find your father, find the Sparrows. You will be safe there."

  • Lyron was terrified of leaving, and he knew in some way, it was his mother's fault for making him so scared of the unknown. But his sister, Rayna, hatches a plan that could make him get away without suspicion, only on the condition that he never shows his face again.

  • The night of his escape, he and Rayna tear his pelt blanket, with her taking it back to tell the colony that Lyron wanted to prove himself that he wasn't like those 'Winged Freaks', only for him to lose his life as he fell off a cliff and into the river, never to be seen again.

  • Lyron takes flight for the first time that night of his escape, realizing how much he missed out, how much freedom he longed for, right in front of him.

  • He reaches the Sparrows and asks for Guthrie, in which in turn welcomes his winged child with open arms.

  • The Sparrows spoil him to the point of worship, which makes him increasingly uncomfortable. Even when he tries to spend alone time with his dad, it was never the same. Even though he was a great help with his flying and even more encouraging with pursuing his love for music, he failed to understand why his son didn't appreciate everything the colony did for him.

  • Lyron leaves, unable to handle the Sparrows way of winged worship.

  • Finding a home in the mountains, Lyron stays away from colonies, he promises himself.

  • Over the months, he travels the land learning new things and finding friends. His songs can be heard amongst the wind.

  • Lyron, though extremely careful as to never be seen by the two opposing colonies, gets caught by a molly by the name of Cassandra, a Sparrow-turned-Wolf member. She asks - no - begs for him to help her child, and Lyron stays, curious and intrigued.

  • Nights later, Lyron waits for Cassandra to meet them at the scheduled time at the edge of the Wolves border nervously. But his nervous state dissipates once he sees the molly approach, her winged daughter in tow. Lyron meets Endora for the first time. Cassandra had begged him to take her daughter under his wing where she'll be safe from being hunted down. Seeing himself in the kitten, he accepts.

  • Lyron and Endora take off, never looking back. From that day on, he teaches his new companion the ways of being free, without having to hide their wings. He takes her all across the land, teaching her how to fly and showing her how many diverse cultures and customs there are in the world. The two became inseparable, often seen at each other's side.
